Pedorthic Assessments
During our thorough pedorthic assessments, we work with you to understand your needs and offer personalized solutions to improve your comfort, mobility, and function. After discussing your symptoms and concerns and analyzing your foot structure and gait, your pedorthist will help you understand the problem and provide treatment options, which could be custom orthotics, over the counter insoles, or footwear advice.
Custom Foot Orthotics
Custom orthotics are custom-made insoles for your shoes, made from 3-dimensional impressions of your feet. The orthotic design and materials are selected specifically for you, based on your foot mechanics, your foot pain or concerns, and your footwear. Orthotics support your feet to improve their position and function, accommodate abnormalities, and provide cushioning and reduce pressure in painful areas. They can be designed to fit various types of footwear, from running shoes to dress shoes, or sport-specific footwear like ski boots or soccer cleats. Pedorthists are highly skilled at modifying orthotics and other insoles and can modify or fine-tune your orthotics to ensure that they are comfortable and effective. Orthotics can also be refurbished as needed to keep them lasting for years.
Over the Counter Insoles
Over the Counter Insoles are pre-made generic insoles that provide arch support or cushioning for minor conditions.

Heather Orosz
Canadian Certified Pedorthist
Heather received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biomechanics from the University of Calgary in 2002. She then began working in the footwear industry, where her background in biomechanics naturally led her to pursue a career in pedorthics, earning her pedorthic certification in 2005. Since then, she has treated everything from athletic injuries to high-risk diabetic feet. Heather has served on the Board of Directors of the College of Pedorthics of Canada and has volunteered with the Pedorthic Association of Canada.
